I grew up in Poland, in a city called Szczecin (good luck pronouncing that).
With no clear plan, I moved to Manchester (UK) to study business and economics, which somehow led to an exchange year in Hong Kong. Between taking random classes like "Jazz, Blues and Broadway", I traveled all over East and Southeast Asia. That year got me even more interested in the region, so I did a master’s in Chinese economy and business, split between Rotterdam (Netherlands) and Nanjing (China).
During those years, I made a living playing online poker. My mum was not thrilled, but it taught me a ton about probability, game theory, decision making, and keeping cool despite setbacks - turns out, all useful in startups.
After graduating, I moved to Berlin (Germany), worked briefly for an angel investor, then co-founded Medigo to improve access to quality healthcare globally. We raised a Series A from Accel, built a 50-person team, and helped 200,000+ patients across five continents. Lots of mistakes, lots of pivots, lots of lessons.
I handled almost everything except product and engineering. In 2019, I decided to learn to code - partly out of curiosity, partly out of frustration with not understanding how software is built. A few months in, I was hooked and knew this is what I want to do every day. When the timing was right, I was able to transition out and went all-in on engineering.
In 2021, I joined ODF, building products for early-stage founders (persona I could relate to well). That’s also where I met Zach!
Now at PostHog, I’m excited to keep helping founders and product engineers build great products!
After 18 years abroad, I’m back in Poland, though I travel a fair bit with my wife Ola and our 2-year-old son Jan.
Outside of tech, I tend to obsess over:
- Board sports (surfing, kiteboarding, wakeboarding, snowboarding)
- Consuming (and sometimes making) great food and drinks (ramen, tacos, fried chicken, coffee, beer) - lmk if you're up for a taco tour in Tulum 👀
